Hopatcong School Board revises budget to compensate for loss of over $200,000 in State Aid

The State Aid to Hopatcong Schools has been cut by 2% the highest possible under the new NJ State Budget.

According to Anthony Fasano, President of the School Board. “This puts us in a very difficult situation now at this time of the year. We may need to cancel some course offerings or eliminate some paid positions. Otherwise, we do some have several ongoing initiatives that may help, such new agreements with Transportation and the Day Care to lower costs.”

“The new budget calls for a reduction in spending in areas including professional development (down $28,478), tech supplies (down $15,000) and the district's Chromebook initiative (down $5,000).”
