Annual “Olde English Feast” held at the Castle of Jeffersonshire
Come one! Come all!
It is once again time for the Annual “Olde English Feast” to be held at the Castle of Jeffersonshire. Now in its 32nd year, visitors to the feast will be magically transported back in time from the moment they walk through the castle gate and down the dimly lit castle halls to attend a banquet hosted by King Charles II. You must first pass the shire tax collector, Will Pigsnout. It is here that you will pay your taxes (ticket fee) if you have not already done so.
Reservations are a must...call: 973-697-3535 ex. 5860
Then it’s off to the Great Hall. (The Jefferson Township High School Cafeteria) First, you will be introduced to those already seated in the Hall by the Beefeater, John Trumbull. You will be greeted by your serving wench or knave and be escorted like royalty to your table. When all the guests have arrived it will be time for the entrance of the Royal Court. The Court is made up of the Royal Family and their entourage, skillfully played by the Jefferson Township High School Madrigal Singers – who will entertain you for the next 3 hours. The rest of the evening will consist of a 5 course Turkey and Roast Pork Dinner, plus dancing, singing, juggling, skits and morality plays, and other sundry entertainments – such as knightings, and beheadings by the shire headsman, Eric Blunt. The evening concludes with a concert performed by the Royal Court.
