Our 2019 carnival fundraiser will run from Tuesday, June 25 through Saturday, June 29, at Chubb Park in Chester NJ. Hours each evening will be from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM, weather permitting. Fireworks night we will stay open until 11 PM.

Cruise Nights! Antique & Classic Boats

The beautiful antique & classic boats will cruise around Lake Hopatcong on summer evenings.  All cruises start at 6:30 pm.  On May 30th, the cruise will start in front of the Windlass.  On June 27th, in front of the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club.  On July 25th, in front of the Windlass. On August 29th, in front of the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club.

June Outdoor Concert Series - Katie Henry

Katie Henry, from Sussex County, composes her songs on both piano and guitar. Bass player Antar Goodwin, meanwhile, co-wrote with Katie many of the songs on her new CD. B-3 organist John Ginty, who can be heard on the CD and occasionally live with Katie, produced the album. Katie often plays favorite classic blues and rock covers from artists "who have influenced me over the years."

Jefferson Township Free Concerts: Community Concert & Jazz bands

The Community Band will present a wonderful repertoire of popular favorites including the classics, Broadway musicals, standard marches, and patriotic salutes performed by talented local musicians under the direction of Peter Tummillo. A one hour intensive workshop for anyone who finds it difficult to initiate or dominate their partner. You know, because you are nice! Dominating your partner is easier than you think and especially if this is new to you, you might be struggling with how to be assertive when it's outside your comfort zone.  This workshop is open to all genders, orientations and lifestyles.

Annual Lake Hopatcong Fireworks

Since at least the early 1950's, LHYC has sponsored the annual Fourth of July fireworks display. LHYC has always funded the launching of the fireworks from our members' dues as a contribution to the wider community.

It’s another great weekend of great rock ‘n roll, finger-lickin’ barbeque and a unique variety of craft beers, as the tenth edition of Rock, Ribs and Ridges returns to The Sussex County Fairgrounds on June 29 – 30, 2019.

Annual Civil War Reenactment of the Battle of Monmouth (2)

Each year the Friends of Monmouth Battlefield co-sponsors, with the DEP, State of New Jersey, an annual reenactment of the battle. The event is usually held on a weekend towards the end of June, in commemoration of the anniversary of the battle being fought on June 28, 1778. Hundreds of troops encamp at the park and recreate scenarios of the battle over the weekend.

Jefferson Township Farmers Market

The Jefferson Township Farmers Market has a new home: Firemen’s Field. The field is located at 750 Route 15 South, behind Bank of America at the intersection with Bowling Green Parkway. The new space will allow more room for vendors and better accommodate traffic flow. Customers will have ample parking onsite and at the Lakeside Recreation Complex directly across the road (15 Swan Lane).

It will be open every Sunday from 10:00-2:00 through October, rain or shine, offering an array of seasonal fruits and vegetables, jams, jellies, eggs, all natural and organic soap, lotions, and more.

Smithsonian Water/Ways Exhibit - Runs from July 1 – August 10

The Water/Ways exhibition is part of Museum on Main Street, a unique collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES), and the New Jersey Council for the Humanities. This exhibit is hosted by the Lake Hopatcong Foundation at the Lake Hopatcong Environmental and Cultural Center.  The exhibit is free and open to the public.  Viewing hours TBD.

Roxbury Community School Yoga for Beginners (Starts 7/2)

Yoga for Beginners 

The beginner class introduces the fundamental principles of alignment and breath work in a flow of postures linked together by the breath. Students will be introduced to yoga postures through step-by-step verbal description and demonstration. Emphasis is placed on student understanding, safety, and stability within each pose. Gradually these poses will be linked together into a gentle flowing sequence. If you have never tried yoga this is the class for you, designed to meet the needs of those new to yoga as well as those seeking continued understanding of basic yoga poses. This course is ideal for teens (no younger than 14 years old) and adults.
