Roxbury High School’s Director of Bands Jeffrey Conrad adds, “We are delighted to partner with Music for All to present the 5th Annual Metropolitan Wind Band Invitational! This festival features 18 local bands and orchestras working with six of the finest conductors, musicians, and educators in the nation. Our festival is non-competitive and will allow all those involved, students and teachers alike, the chance to learn and grow as well as to celebrate their musical achievement in an incredibly warm and supportive environment.”
MWBI 2018 Chair and Roxbury High School Band Parent Association Mike Mangano added “For those that appreciate music in schools, the annual Metropolitan Wind Band Invitational held at Roxbury High School is a great place to come and listen to some of the finest music that high school students perform. This non-competitive event is a place for schools from all around NJ-NY metro area to come and play music for audiences, and adjudicators alike, and after the bands perform they are placed into a clinic to help improve upon their performance.”
Mr. Mangano also thanks the Roxbury Communities support of the Metropolitan Wind Band Invitational and Roxbury’s Music Program district-wide. “The support from the local community for the arts program in Roxbury is second to none. So many local businesses support the Roxbury Band program through generous donations that allows the Roxbury Band Parents Association to support the band program where the school funding stops short. This is a great way to keep music in schools and in our lives.”
