October 24th is Prescription Drug Take Back Day – See Drop-off Locations

When you think about October, you might think about the leaves changing colors, sweater weather, pumpkin picking, apple cider, or Halloween. All of these wonderful things take place in the month of October, but there are other things that also take place this month that not many people may be too familiar with. On October 24, 2020, the Drug Enforcement Administration will be hosting a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

On this day, residents will be able to dispose of expired and unused medications in a safe and easy way.

Participating in the National Take Back Day is a great strategy to help keep adults (and kids!) healthy and safe. Last year, people from all over the country disposed over 800,000 pounds of unused or expired medications to the Drug Enforcement Administration. With each year comes more success. If you have any unused or expired medication, consider disposing of it on October 24 at ANY medication disposal drop box.
