Great News! Hopatcong Farmers Market is open for an additional weekend!

Great news for everyone in the region, Mayor Mike Francis has extended the Hopatcong Farmers Market one more week till Sunday October 15, 2017. In celebration of the Halloween Parade that will taking place on that day.

It will be an awesome last day in the middle of the fall season, and it means you can still shop all of the fresh fruit, vegetables, food, pastries, plus the arts and crafts one more time! Many of the Vendors will be in a Halloween costume or head piece for this special day.

As this Farmer’s Market is in their first season they have several vendors, with many more coming in the very near future. In addition, they are planning special community involvement, entertainment, and projects for the kids.

Ariel Rivka Dance Company

See the stories of Vashti and Esther come to life in an interactive, educational, family-friendly performance. A condensed, 25-minute dance performance is sure to delight audience members of all ages.

Before the performance, audiences enjoy a workshop with Artistic Director Ariel Grossman and Composer David Homan. The two will discuss the art of collaboration and how they use music and movement to tell a story.

The eight women brings a particular perspective and interpretation of the choreography resulting in a stunning collaboration.

The afternoon will continue with samples of Ariel Rivka Dance repertoire. The work explores emotionally driven movement with underlying currents of technique and structure.

Roxbury Volleyball Dig Pink Night

The Roxbury High School Volleyball Team will be hosting their annual Dig Pink Night on Monday, October 16th at Roxbury High School (1 Bryant Drive, Succasunna, NJ). The freshmen team plays at 4:00, followed by the JV team at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00 pm. Free admission. Monetary donations will go to support the Susan G Komen Foundation, the Side-Out Foundation, and the Amanda Nagy Scholarship Fund. Please come out and support our teams and our fight against cancer!

The Roxbury Board of Education is proud to sponsor a free a parent presentation to “Defend Your Teen!” This event is open to all Lake Community Residents!

This important parent presentation, taught by the US National DARE Officer of the Year, is one night only on Thursday, October 19th in the Eisenhower Middle School Auditorium at 47 Eyland Avenue in Succasunna, NJ from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

If you have two left feet and feel uncoordinated as I do, don’t worry, you can go at your own pace and make the moves that are comfortable to you at your own entry level.

Following the Jefferson Township Recreation Department’s annual Fall Festival event on Saturday, October 21, Jefferson Recreation proudly presents the 29th annual Halloween Haunted House at Camp Jefferson, 81 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong – rain or shine.

Spooktacular spirits will inhabit the completely transformed Community Lodge where eerie scenarios will unfold in dark and scary rooms causing you to laugh and scream your way through a diverse gathering of ghosts, ghouls, serial killers, random creatures, and things that go bump in the night!

Eric Olsen ReVision Trio

This concert will feature the Eric Olsen ReVision Trio, playing Eric’s imaginative jazz transformations of easily recognizable melodies by classical and popular composers. Eric’s jazz arrangements pay homage to the originals, while incorporating his distinctive jazz voice and ability to generate “head turning solos”(Robert Rusch, Cadence Magazine). Melodies will include Waltz in c# minor by Frederic Chopin, In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg, and contemporary melodies like My Man’s Gone Now by George Gershwin, Something by George Harrison, and operatic arias by Puccini, Mozart, Verdi, and Bizet.
