Jefferson Rec Presents Holiday Train Open House

Camp Jefferson

You’re invited to an open house of holiday trains as the Jefferson Township Recreation Department welcomes the BD&W Club of Jefferson, the High Point “N” Track Club, and the Pocono Mountain Garden Railway Society to Camp Jefferson, 81 Weldon Road in Lake Hopatcong on Saturday, December 8 from 9 am to 5 pm and on Sunday, December 9 from 9 am to 4 pm.  Come to see model railroading displays in action!

Hopatcong High School Drama Club Will Perform Arsenic and Old Lace

Hopatcong High School

In a triumphant return to the stage, the Hopatcong High School Drama Club will perform Arsenic and Old Lace December 6-9th at the Hopatcong High School auditorium.

The director is Kerri Batche who is in the role for the first time on the HHS stage. Mrs. Batche, however, has had a long and illustrious career in theater. After her successful run with Cinderella and the Substitute Fairy Godmother on the Hopatcong Middle School stage, she was pegged to take over in the high school director’s chair for Joe Ross who retired after 15 years last June.

Bnai Tov, the Mt Arlington Synagogue, invites you, your family, and your friends to join us in lighting the chanukiah (Chanukah menorah), singing blessings and songs. spinning dreidels, and enjoying other special treats.    

Please join us at the NW corner of Howard Blvd & Altenbrand Ave - you will see the large chanukiah and also our large Chanukah bear there.

This year marks the 48th anniversary of New Jersey Ballet’s Nutcracker, making it the longest running original professional production in the state.

The production debuted in Millburn in 1971 with international star of New York City Ballet Edward Villella as the Cavalier. Since then, the company has given approximately 800 performances in theatres throughout New Jersey, with more than 5,000 dancers and children, and over a million viewers. Many in the audience who saw the production as children now bring their own children and grandchildren to see this cherished holiday tradition.

First Presbyterian Church of Succasunna

Roxbury is celebrating its 5th year in the Wreaths Across America family in honoring veterans by laying wreaths on the graves of the departed servicemen and women. Honor our veterans for their service and sacrifice by sponsoring a wreath to be laid on a grave of a veteran buried at the Succasunna First Presbyterian Church – United Methodist Church. Newton, NJ – Raconteur Radio will present a staged radio play of H.G. Wells War of the Worlds on Saturday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library, 125 Morris Turnpike, Newton.

Complete with theatrical lighting, period costumes, Golden Age radio equipment, sound effects and vintage commercials, War of the Worlds Live! recreates the broadcast that caused panicked New Jerseyans to flee their homes in fear of a real invasion 80 years ago.
